5 Reasons You Should Workout in the Morning

Reasons You Should Workout in the Morning

Reasons You Should Workout in the Morning: Every morning after my alarm goes off, I spend at least 30 minutes in bed convincing myself to workout. The monologue in my head goes something like this, “I should workout. Or I could paint my toenails. No, I should workout. I could start tomorrow…” And then I get on Pinterest and look at all those healthy bitches I pinned to my “Thinspiration” board and I’m like, “FINE! I’ll go workout.”

The truth is that no matter how much of a morning person you’re not, morning workouts are super beneficial to your health. Not convinced? Check out these 5 reasons you should get your butt out of bed and to the gym in the morning. You can develop your knowledge by using following

1. You’ll burn more calories.

According to a study done at Harvard University, morning HIIT workout help to burn more calories. The study showed that in the morning, carbohydrate reserves are almost empty. When your body can’t get fuel from carbs, it goes into mini-starvation mode and gets fuel from stored fat reserves. Goodbye cellulite! If you can’t get a complete workout in during the morning, try to at least do a cardiovascular exercise, like walking on the treadmill, from at least 10 minutes (preferably 30). This will jumpstart your metabolism and help you burn fat all day.

2. You’ll get it out of the way.

In the evenings after work, it’s often hard to choose working out when there’s so many other things you could be doing: spending time with family, having dinner with your boyfriend, or watching Olivia Pope on Scandal. “I’ll do it later,” you say to yourself, but later never comes. Suck it up now and you won’t have to suck it in later,

3. You’ll stick to it.

Studies show that people who work out in the morning are 90% more likely to stick to their routine. You’ll finish your workout before your day starts and you won’t be able to find an excuse to reschedule. Come up with a routine that works for you. Hit the gym at the same time every morning, or schedule yourself for an morning workout class. You can do it!

4. You’ll be more conscious of what you’re eating.

Working out in the morning will put you in a healthy mindset. You’ll think twice before grabbing pizza for lunch, because you did not sweat to death this morning for nothing.

5. You’ll be in a better mood.

Exercise just makes you feel good. During exercise your body releases endorphins (feel good hormones) which relieve stress and make you feel more confident. Serotonin and ACTH hormones are also produced and will help you be more productive, make better decisions, and be more creative throughout the day.

Of course any exercise is better than none, so as long as you’re finding time to workout at anytime of the day, you’re already on the right track. Just 30 minutes a day could change your life!

What time of the day do you workout? Do you think morning workouts are beneficial?
